35 Moments That Blew Attack On Titan Fan's Minds

32. Eren The Grappler

Here's a fun little fact all you AoT fans might not know. The manga's creator, Hajime Isayama, is a giant fan of mixed martial arts and based the design of the Armoured and Attack Titan on two famous fighters.

While the Armoured Titan is based on former UFC heavyweight champion and wrestling legend, Brock Lesnar, the Attack Titan is based on former UFC middleweight title contender, Yushin Okami.

It's one thing to base your creations off of MMA fighters, but Isayama went one step further and incorporated their fight style too. This led to a battle that made every single MMA-loving anime fan jump out of their seat. (Or maybe that was just me).

Regardless, it was quite the sight to see Eren go from going blow-to-blow with Reiner, to using grappling techniques to subdue him. It was like watching Demian Maia in his prime as the Attack Titan transitioned from submission to submission with ease.
