3. Glover Worked His Way Up From A Writer On 30 Rock
Many actors start by taking smaller parts in projects, or working in small budget movies in the hope to build up a resume and get noticed in an industry that is incredibly difficult. However, Glover's genius not only got him into the game at a pretty early stage, but came from a completely different path to the usual way: he was a member of an internet sketch comedy team called Derrick Comedy, with DC Pierson and Dominic Dierkes. However, Glover's big break came while he was still living in his dorm at New York University, where he was working as an RA. Glover was approached to write for 30 Rock, and Tina Fey describes that not only was Glover the only black member of the writing staff, he was also the youngest and continue to live on campus while writing for the show. From there, Glover's career blossomed, and through the connections formed at 30 Rock, Glover secured the position at Community.
