4 Reasons Sherlock Should End With Season 4

3. John Watson: Family Man

With John now married and no longer living at Baker Street, we are unfortunately going to miss out on one of the show's best dynamics. Sherlock and John's living situation may not have been one of the biggest aspects of the show, but it was entertaining to see how the two detectives interacted with one another in the same space. Sure, John will be over to visit, but unless something happens to Mary, it appears that Sherlock will be sharing his flat only with Mrs. Hudson. This provides an interesting challenge for the show going forward. John and Sherlock together are for more interesting than they are apart, and with a baby on the way, will John really have time to solve crimes with his old pal? Will he even want to put himself in danger to do so? An interesting take on their relationship, yes, but maybe not good for the show past season 4 where it all may start getting in the way and feel more tedious than anything. Think of what happened to Dexter once that show introduced a baby. Domesticating your heroes is only interesting for so long before you begin to come up with excuses for never seeing the wife and kids again. I say give them one last adventure, one big challenge before John enjoys the happy ending he deserves. In fact, bring back an old foe to make it all come full circle...
