4 Reasons Why Doctor Who Should Return To The Serial Format

3. Fewer Budget Commitments

There has been some consternation over the amount of budget the BBC allows Doctor Who for some time now, given the loss of new alien characters in season 6 and the much-protested scrapping of Doctor Who Confidential. But it€™s a simple logistical fact that the more variation of CG environments, sets or locations required will either mean a drop in quality or a danger of budgetary constraints. If, however, the seasons were limited to about five or six stories, with more screen time and emphasis over the weeks on air, The Mill would not be pressed to design and create so much so quickly, and therefore cost could theoretically be reduced.
