1. Orphan Black
Network: BBC America
Status: Second season premieres in 2014 Orphan Black is an accessible science fiction story of Sarah Manning, a punk-rock English chick who uncovers the truth about her, and the women she discovers around her, who are all part of the same cloning experiment. The shows story launches off when Sarah watches a women who is identical to her jump off a train platform. Sarah then assumes her identity in order to run away with a massive sum of money, but soon gets involved in an intricate cloning conspiracy as she discovers there are more clones out in the world. By now, most TV junkies are familiar with Tatiana Maslany, if not because you've seen Orphan Black, but because of the backlash of Emmy snubbed-related complaints (
see here). Its true, she was snubbed. Not only does Maslany play six different characters, but she plays them so well that you forget that theyre all her. Sometimes, when a clone isn't in an episode I catch myself wondering if that actress had a scheduling conflict. And if Tatiana Maslany wasn't a gift enough (Alison is my favorite clone, whos yours?), were introduced to Jordan Gavaris, Sarahs step-brother and tension reliever, whose comedic timing and delivery are matched by few.
