4 Ups & 4 Downs For Star Trek: Section 31

There is, of course, one very obvious observation staring at us from the sensor readouts in the whale pool (other than the group in the very title, and the ex-emperor at the hotel room door). We've known about it for quite some time now — Rachel Garrett was in this one. Though she technically did drop the ball on that whole 'no murder on my watch' thing, Garrett did get a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. Only a pip and a half off Captain!

Speaking of, there was a rather touching nod at the end (ignoring the 'Your Mama' joke) to someone else who ended up aboard the Enterprise-C. "Has anybody been to Turkana IV?" Jamie Lee Curtis' Control says to the gang, minus Fuzz, plus his wife, before the space station and every ship around it warps away. Turkana IV was, is, a 'failed' Earth colony, birthplace of Natasha Yar and sister Ishara Yar. As we know, in Yesterday's Enterprise, the alternate Tasha Yar transferred from one letter to that other after the death of Captain Garrett.

To conclude, it is worth wondering just how much information Georgiou managed to glean about the past during her stint in the 32nd century (cetacean observations of her own, if you will). Georgiou's "This is chaos, Garrett. You know you love it, hmmm?" on the garbage scow might have been more prescient than it seemed!
