5 Actors Who Hated Working On Game Of Thrones
4. Natalie Dormer - Margaery Tyrell
For most actors, being on a show like Game of Thrones would be something they would refuse to let go of for as long as possible. Natalie Dormer, on the other hand, was less enthusiastic about sticking around.
Dormer's Margaery Tyrell was a great addition to the series, as she proved the show wasn't all about blood, betrayal and dragons. Instead, it could be about intelligent people working their way up the hierarchal ladder, and many viewers were frustrated with the sudden and unexpected death of her character.
Still, Dormer found that the quick demise arrived too late, as she'd asked to be written off the show a while before it happened. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly she discussed how she'd requested them to "release me from working on the show".
This mostly came down to the fact that another job had opened up, and it was one that she wanted to pursue instead. Sadly, she was not allowed to do so, as David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wanted to keep her on a little longer. This meant that she missed out on something that she did "really want to do".
While she's never been openly critical of her character or time in the show, this desire to leave and frustration with losing out on a part she wanted spells how much she disliked working on season six.
