1. The Office (The Best) When the US remake of the Office first appeared in 2005, it was immediately met with a dismissive reception. Critics in both the UK and US were quick to mock the apparent watering down of the original€™s realism, with others taking shots at the new cast and overly familiar gags. It probably also didn€™t help that the remake came hot on the heels of multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards for Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant€™s ground-breaking original. Seven years later and the US remake of The Office has become one of NBC€™s highest rated shows and a huge success. Just like the original, it€™s also become a multi-award winner and has found its way into many polls of the greatest TV sitcoms. After the difficult first season, The Office managed to find its footing in a superb second season - carving its own personality and allowing its fantastic cast to expand their characters from mere imitations of their UK counterparts. Far more than just a carbon copy of David Brent, Steve Carell€™s Michael Scott is arguably a far more interesting character. Deep within his constant need to be the centre of attention and his unfortunate ability to offend almost anyone, Scott is a well-intentioned and lonely guy, who is sympathetic rather than loathsome. Carell's departure from the show in 2011 may have seen the show struggle to maintain its quality since, but The Office still remains the greatest UK to US TV remake. And now for the five worst...
