4. Iron Chef (人)
If you want the very best of any kind of show then the place to look is Japan. Those crazy men and women are experts at making top notch geek TV shows and Iron Chef is one more example of why they are so bloody good at entertaining us. The series, which actually premièred way back in 1993, has a very similar format to your typical cooking contest shows like Master Chef wherein a bunch of wannabe chef's duke it out to create a dish that tantalizes the judges taste buds and blows them away. But in Iron Chef that tried and tested (boring) formula just wasn't enough so they decided to turn the volume up all the way to 11 injecting the hilarious Chairman Kaga character as the show's host. The premise of the show is Kaga has invited a bunch of top chef's into his castle where they must create outstanding dishes in order to win a contest crowning them 'Honorary Iron Chef'. It may not sound all that different but just check out the clip below and you'll see exactly why we love Iron Chef so bloody much - it's like the WWE of cookery shows! Bonkers, right?
