5 Characters Who Should Come Back For 24: Live Another Day

3. Morris O'Brian

Morris is one of those characters on 24 that deserved more attention, but never quite got it. First appearing at the end of season 5, he was brought in by his ex-wife Chloe to help her interfere with CTU€™s communications so that she could assist Jack. After going out to deliver some equipment to Jack, he comes back to CTU and comforts Chloe when she sees a picture of her and Edgar Stiles, who had died during the Sentox attack the day before. They leave together, and that€™s all we see of him over the last two episodes of the season. By season 6, Morris is working full-time at CTU and has gotten back together with Chloe. Like most of the analysts at CTU, he helped throughout the day with operations and data collecting, but his personal story arc began when he was tricked into believing that his brother was a victim of the Valencia nuclear attack. It turns out it was a trap by Darren McCarthy, an associate of the main terrorist Abu Fayed, to intercept and kidnap Morris. Eventually arriving at the current terrorist hideout, Fayed forces Morris to program at least one of the four remaining suitcase nukes. When Morris refuses, Fayed puts him through one of 24€™s most brutal torture sessions, and eventually Morris agrees to arm the bomb. After finishing the work, Fayed is about to execute him, but CTU arrives in the knick of time to save him, although Fayed escapes with the arming codes. The rest of the season has Morris trying to deal with the shame of helping a terrorist, even though it was under duress. He briefly breaks up with Chloe after this, but they get back together in the last episode of the season, where Morris finds out they€™re having a child. Morris briefly appeared in season 7 to drop off Chloe at FBI headquarters and later to bail her out after she was caught helping Jack illegally (she had a habit of doing this). Besides one last scene where Chloe said goodbye to him when she goes back to the FBI, that was all we saw of Morris that season. His last appearance in 24 was in the Chloe€™s Arrest DVD extra, where he watches his wife being taken away into custody, holding his son while this happens. Personally, I thought Morris was the closest thing to a comical character 24 ever had, and he had a lot more personality than many of the characters on there. Judging from a comment made in season 8, it doesn€™t look like he€™s working in the government anymore and is instead a stay-at-home dad. If Chloe did indeed get sent to jail, I€™d like to see how Morris and their son Prescott dealt with her incarceration, and if their marriage suffered as a result. I€™d also like to see him get back behind that keyboard and help out his wife with data analysis stuff and crack a joke or here and there.
