5 Game Of Thrones Characters You’ll Like Much Better On A Rewatch (And 1 You’ll Like Less)

3. Joffrey Baratheon

Joffrey is certainly not forgettable. He seemed destined to be one of the most memorable TV villains of all time, before Ramsay made him second best in his own show. Watching the first time, we’re all too busy detesting the character to really appreciate the performance behind it. That’s what stands out on a rewatch.

Jack Gleeson stepped down from acting following his portrayal of this beast, and while he could’ve gone his whole career without ever topping his turn in Game Of Thrones, it feels like the acting world has lost a star in the making. Gleeson has since founded a theatre company, so that’s something at least.

The second time around, the shock of his evil deeds has worn off and you can enjoy Jack Gleeson’s fabulous acting. The kid has amazing chemistry with Dinklage, Turner, Dance and Headey. For all he’s rotten to the core, this is played differently in each scene. With Tyrion, he’s an entitled bully. With Sansa, it’s ripping wings off flies. Tywin though, exposes his cowardice, while Cersei shows his weak, mummy’s boy nature underneath it all.

It deserves to be appreciated.
