1. The Creator Of The Show Plays Otto Delaney
Our favourite blind brother and prisoner Otto Delaney (Kurt Sutter) is actually the creator, writer, and producer of Sons Of Anarchy. Kurt Sutter is quite obviously a superbly talented man, creating Sons of Anarchy in 2008 after a stint in writing and again, starring in another FX drama, The Shield. Otto Delaney is a completely tragic character, he lost his wife, his sight and his freedom all directly because of the club or for the good of the club. Otto is an integral character in the show because of his loyalty to the brotherhood, despite everything he has been through and the sacrifices he has made his loyalty remains. Only recently, Otto has started to act out and make decisions of his own that arent necessarily for the good of the club, including putting Tara in bad situation by violently murdering a nurse whilst under her supervision. Perhaps losing the sight in your second eye for a completely senseless reason will do that to a person, Otto had to snap at some point. SOA is brilliant at pushing characters to their absolute limits and testing each individual breaking point throughout the episodes. It is evident that Kurt Sutter likes to create characters with multiple dimensions that have the capacity to shock you, just when you think you know them so well and can almost predict their behaviour.
