1. Misfits
I remember when Misfits was good. Starring Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Iwan Rheon, Lauren Socha, Antonia Thomas and Robert Sheehan, Howard Overman's action/drama was immensely unique when it first appeared on our screens back in 2009. Featuring a group of young offenders forced into community service, Misfits saw their lives transformed after an electrical storm endowed them with supernatural powers. Sheehan, who played the show-stealing and absolutely hilarious Nathan Young, was one of the "poster boys" for the show and was by and large its best asset and the storylines were frequently gripping. However, he tragically left the show after series 3, and from that point on Misfits never recovered. The show would go on to be stripped of all its main cast members in subsequent series' and Jarret, (Curtis) Rheon (Simon) Socha (Kelly) and Thomas (Alisha) all left to be replaced by a brand new set of young offenders - Rudy, Jess, Finn, Alex and Abbey. Though Rudy, played by the gifted Joseph Gilgun, is a fantastic character, he is the only exception and the rest of the new young criminals introduced in series 4 are dreadful. You see, the problem with Misfits is that it initially gave us a group of very likable characters who viewers invested in over the course of three to four seasons and then Overman got rid of them all and handed us a new group who we simply don't care about. It's easy to feel cheated by Misfits because it could have been truly special - if only the main cast had stuck together.
