1. The Big Bang Theory
It's at this point, after dissing both Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, that you might think that I have something against Chuck Lorre. And while I do have something very large and cumbersome against Chuck Lorre, it extends no deeper than the fact that he writes bad television shows that get watched by idiots everywhere. Every joke on the show is telegraphed beyond belief, and there is not a moment of surprise to be found in almost any episode. The worst part is that the nerds are the butt of the joke. When the laughter comes, it comes at the expense of the characters. I'm surprised that any true geek or nerd would ever like the show, as it is perhaps the most demeaning and simple-minded approach to nerds we've seen since the 80's. It's cruel and nasty to its characters, which is criminal enough, but with that it attempts to beat down an entire subculture. The show is disrespectful to nerds and geeks everywhere. It stands in affront to people like myself, who care about TV and movies and video games with wizards, and tries to make us feel like we're not cool. Well, let me tell you something, The Big Bang Theory: This is the age of the nerd and the geek. And we are here to stay. Hopefully, however, you are soon to go.
