2. Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad (1994-1995)
When a freak power surge zaps high school student Sam Collins into the digital realm, he becomes a superhero named Servo. Meanwhile, the same power surge allows an Artificial Intelligence named Kilokahn to reach out to Malcolm Fink, a fellow student of Sam's. Malcolm creates monsters on his computer that Kilokahn turns into virus monsters. Together with his band Team Samurai, Sam must fight these virus monsters to protect the world from Kilokahn's evil plans. This is another favorite of mine. I loved watching the show before school every morning. Part of it was just the fact that the main character was named Sam. But it was a fun show. Much like all of these shows, it was very formulaic with Sam going into the computer to fight a monster. Then he would need help so his band mates would join in with their attack vehicles which formed around Servo into a Megazord-like armor. And the fight scenes were always filmed on the same set which looked like giant computer motherboards. And in the end, the good guys won leaving Kilokahn and Malcolm brooding over their defeat and planning their next strike. And did I forget to mention that it stars Joey Lawrence's little brother Matthew? Whoa! Although it only ran for one season, there are 53 episodes of the show! Volume One, which features the first 28 episodes, will be hitting DVD on February 19, 2013. I am extremely excited to get my copy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N34MmqmxqD0
