Laurie and Fry, when working alongside Rowan Atkinson, Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson were like a frightfully middle class Avengers. Every TV comedy they did remains a textbook in small-screen humour. But what are their cohorts up to nowadays? Well, Ade has been keeping himself busy trekking round Yorkshire, meeting various locals, and telling us all about it on ITV. Rowan is probably still feeling smug from thinking that Johnny English 2 was the best thing since Blackadder Goes Forth. And Riks dead. Now that really is letting the side down. But just look at how Stephen and Hugh have managed to maintain an air of dignity. Hugh is still constantly proving hes no one trick pony with his acting and musical success, and Stephen, well, hell always make a living out of just being Stephen Fry, and never actually have to do anything. However, its still interesting how Stephen and Hugh, when compared to their former partners in crime, have managed to prove how successful they can be without each other without having to resort to rambling round Yorkshire. If theyre this good on their own, imagine how good they could be were they to tie the knot once more.
