1. Minor Characters
It is not just the main cast that is fantastic, there a many, many excellent minor characters that are very likely to have a bigger role in the second series. These are my top three; Sam Waterston plays the eccentric, occasionally belligerent CAN News Division President Charlie Skinner. He is a father figure to Will and is positioned as the guardian angel of the news team in that he fights for their journalistic independence and tries to put himself between them and the Network heads. Olivia Munn is one of the big surprises of the series. Her character, Sloan, is an expert on economics and the networks leading financial analyst with a number of degrees to her name, but socially she is very naïve. Her character floated around the edges of the first series but expect her to have a much more central role in the future. Jane Fonda. Yes, THE Jane Fonda plays the CEO of Atlantis World Media, Leona Lansing. She only appears intermittently but is the malevolent face of her industry. Her character could be called a stereotype of a ruthless media mogul but it doesnt matter because of the joy she takes in chewing the scenery each and every time she is on screen.
