4. The Handsome, Witty, Lead Man (Jim Halpert/Hawkeye Pierce)
Each show has the "Lead Man", the suave guy in the workplace. He's witty, enjoys pulling pranks, and frequently flirts with an attractive co-worker (Pam Beesly/Any random nurse). He is also better suited for the position the Leader holds, but for some reason doesn't have the job. Nonetheless, everyone looks to him more in times of trouble, and can always rely on him for a laugh when the mood turns sour. An additional similarity....
The Office... shows Jim Halpert being passed over for a promotion, so in season six Michael Scott promotes him to Co-Manager. In this capacity, Michael will handle the clients of Dunder Mifflin, while Jim handles the day-to-day operations. This angers Dwight, who believes he would be better suited for the job.
