1. The Overview
Both shows are set in a workplace and follow the lives of the people who work there. There's the Incompetent Leader who tries to be cool, but is actually annoying, despite being generally liked by his staff. Except, of course, for the Stuck Up Guy and the Stuck Up Woman who plot to take over his position, and finally get back at the Handsome Witty Man who constantly antagonizes them whenever he takes a break from flirting with the Attractive Co-Worker. Throughout all this are the supporting characters, including the Lazy Guy Who Doesn't Actually Work (Kevin Malone/Luther Rizzo) and the Young Temp Who Is Way Smarter Than Everyone Else (Ryan Howard/Walter "Radar" O'Reilly). Finally, both were adapted from other sources and ran for a really long time (9 Seasons/11 Seasons), to a varying reception.
