5 Times Black Mirror Came True

2. Driverless Pizza Delivery Vans

Automated pizza delivery sounds pretty cool right? Wrong.

Pizza Hut and Toyota have teamed up to invent a driverless pizza delivery van. The Japanese company have also claimed that the invention named the 'e-pallette' could also be used to deliver Amazon packages in the future. This announcement prompted the creators of Black Mirror to reply simply stating: "We know how this goes."

Warnings (and spoilers) ahead. The episode Crocodile from the most recent fourth season of Black Mirror centres around the idea of accessing people's memories through a new piece of technology. It's a pretty dark episode and there's plenty of death in it.

One particular scene made Toyota and Pizza Hut's announcement a bit chilling. Shortly after Mia kills her old friend Rob during an argument about a cyclist he killed 15 years prior (yeah, plenty of death), Mia sees a pedestrian being mowed down. What else would the culprit be other than an automated delivery car. Automation is not always the way.
