5 TV Shows That Should Have Got A Second Season

1. Terra Nova

Terra(1) In the year 2149, planet Earth is dying. Toxic air quality has killed most plant life and animals are all but extinct. In their quest to reverse the damage, a team of scientists discover a rift in space-time. In order to save the human race, chosen "pilgrims" are sent back to prehistoric times so they can start to a new life. It's not often that a show like Terra Nova comes along. If ever there was a genuine successor to Lost, this was it. Everything about this show was excellent. It had action and suspense, a great cast and a strong family feel throughout. Stephan Lang was his usual brilliant self and it even had dinosaurs. Dinosaurs! So what went wrong? Peculiarly, nothing. Season 1 had an average audience of ten million, and the show itself was well received by both fans and critics alike. Some might argue that Terra Nova was too slow, but I think the finale more than made up for pacing issues throughout the series. I mean, the cliffhanger at the end was unbelievably exciting. The big issue was the cost of the show, which probably sealed its fate. It reportedly cost $4 million per episode, which was always going to be difficult to justify. When Fox cancelled the show, Netflix looked set to give it a new life, but that eventually failed to materialise. Of all the shows on this list, Terra Nova remains my favourite cancelled TV show. It wasn't as polished as Firefly or as intriguing as FlashForward (until the last episode), but the world of Terra Nova itself was phenomenal. So, do you agree with my choices? Let me know below.
