5 Ups & 3 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - Can You Hear Me?

4. The (Mostly) Subtle Messaging

Aside from the much louder final ten minutes of the episode, the underlying message of mental health being a part of humanity itself stands incredibly strong throughout the course of Can You Hear Me? The reaffirmation that your feelings upstairs aren't just you being broken, but a part of life as a human being is something many people need to hear each and every day.

This wasn't as tacked-on like the climate change message in Orphan 55, or as explicitly present like the plastic pollution message in Praxeus, it was balanced and interwoven into the narrative neatly, making the entire episode feel much less like a PSA, and more of a subconcious restablishing that it's okay to not be okay. Though the final ten minutes of this episode tarnished this subtlety a touch, the majority of Can You Hear Me? was beautifully lined with meaning.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
