5 Ways A&E Can Improve Bates Motel In Season 2

5. Have Dylan Continue To Grow Closer To Norman Then Be Killed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJhxZ6P-XSA Dylan is one character that I really wanted to hate when he was first introduced but I actually felt myself beginning to enjoy his presence more and more as the show progressed. The main problem was that the writers didn't really give him a lot to do when he was away from Norma and Norman. The anger he feels towards Norma for abandoning him made for some dramatically satisfying scenes but his work guarding the pot fields was tedious and boring. He needs to be spending more time on the show drawing closer to the family and eventually becoming close with Norman. The first season planted the seed for this very well and I really hope they continue this development into the second. Some of the best moments of the entire show just had Dylan trying to convince Norman to move in with him and leave his mother. Dylan needs to be continually trying to grow closer to Norman in order to have Norman be constantly conflicted with self doubt. This will help a great deal whenever Dylan is eventually killed. You know something bad will happen to him because he is nowhere to be found in the original movie. It would be excellent if he was murdered halfway into the season to give his demise a shock factor that was sorely missing from 90% of the show's first season.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
