5 Ways A&E Can Improve Bates Motel In Season 2

2. Have Norman Kill Bradley

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh-oC8eia20 Norman had a brief affair with Bradley in the first season but she quickly rejected him afterwards. This was a clever bit of character development because it allowed the audience to see a subtle hint of rage and jealousy arising in Norman whenever he saw her. If Norman let his rage overtake him and killed Bradley in a later episode of season 2 the writers could use this as a way to have him continue on in his madness in a natural way. The most important thing that the writers have to be conscious of is not turning Norman into a murderer too soon. The audience has to get a sense that he was once a nice, innocent young boy and it's really his mother who drove him to insanity. So far everything appears to be okay in regards to his natural development but he can't go around killing people in every episode. The show has done a good job in that he has only killed one person so far and that was at the very end of the first season. He has to kill again in the new episodes but the character he kills must be chosen very wisely. Bradley is a prime candidate because she seems to be getting more romantic with Dylan. If she was killed the writers could develop both Norman and Dylan just off of one incident.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
