5 Ways A&E Can Improve Bates Motel In Season 2

3. Develop Sheriff Romero As A Villain Towards Norma

bates motel One of the more interesting relationships in the show is that of Norma and sheriff Romero. The final two episodes of season one revealed Romero to be much more ruthless and cold blooded than anyone had previously thought. Likewise for Norma those last two episodes developed her more irrational and manic tendencies in an organic and interesting way. The best thing about her dealings with Romero is the fact that the two of them obviously don't care for one another but Norma still has to learn to trust the sheriff. He is the only person in the entire town, besides Norman, that she can fully depend on even if she doesn't realize that yet. To have Romero actually be vindictive towards her would add an excellent touch of ruthlessness to the show. Norma is already terrified and paranoid enough thinking that everyone is out to get her. If her suspicions were confirmed to be true but no one agreed with her the show could really build a great storyline and develop her character even more.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
