6 Alternative Musicals For People Who Don't Like Musicals

6. How I Met Your Mother: Girls Vs Suits (2010)

himm Not so keen on big musical numbers? Okay, let's break you in gently with the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother. For this landmark episode, the producers had two aims. 1) To further the 'Mother plot' (Ted meets the mother's room mate and sort of sees his future wife's foot...yeah not that great) and 2) to use the fantastic vocal talents on Neil Patrick Harris. As such, a lot of the episode is the usual brand of time jumping comedy that audiences (myself included) have been enjoying for years. But then comes the big dilemma for Barney Stinson - does he choose the hot woman in his apartment or his beloved suits? Rather than throw a quick fire number of sequences where Barney debates back and forth, they went somewhat bigger. And bigger was definitely better. What we get is an elaborate love song to all suits out there, complete with big group dance numbers that is hilarious to watch. Neil Patrick Harris is great here, performing what was one the highlights of the entire show. Its catchy. Its funny. It has Barney singing at the top of his voice astride a New York cab. Take a look at "Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit". If that doesn't bring a smile to your face, I don't know what will.
