6 Podcasts Being Adapted To TV (And 5 More That Should Be)
1. Should Be: Wolf 359
A comedy podcast that slowly devolves into a thriller, Wolf 359 is an intriguing show in style of Golden Age radio that involves the 3-person crew of the Hephaestus Station in its orbit around dwarf star Wolf-359.
Polished in its production and smoothly transitioning between sitcom-esque hilarity and dark, chilling, and suspenseful tensions rising between its characters, the series may have ended some years back, but the escalation in its storytelling and the mysteries it slowly reveals to the audience over its four-season run would be a wonderful addition to the rich genre of TV sci-fi space opera.
The story, however, couldn't work half as well without its charming, compelling, and flawed but ultimately lovable characters. Prime examples are the smart-mouthed communications officer Doug Eiffel, the audacious yet warm and emotionally vulnerable ship Artificial Intelligence Hera, as well as a growing cast to match the story's growing mystery. Even after its end, Wolf 359 is a strong contender among fiction podcasts that deserves a second life in adaptation, and more attention to go with it.
