The questions he throws in Dursts direction stir up agonising moments of suspense, intrigue and a craving to get inside the mind of this perplexed individual. Jarecki is more interested in the spaces between the facts; as he knows, its here where the real answers lie. As a viewer, these intimate moments of revelations and awkwardness fuel our curiosity. Were fascinated by strange people, and Durst is certainly one. His odd word choices, ticks and manner of speech draw us into his lifelong attempts to cover his tracks. Throughout its six episodes, Dursts leaves us open mouthed on more than one occasion after he spurts out many idiosyncratic and eye brow raising one-liners.From lines such as I did not knowingly purposely intentionally lie Durst attempts, at any given time, to intentionally lie his way out of any situation.
