5. Its Surprising Heart
Few shows have more in the tank than Ted Lasso. More than spirit, it has heart. You do really end up caring for Richmond FC because they are not bad, they're just disassembled.
Ted's lack of experience isn't a fix to the team's on the pitch woes, but his attitude and relentless willingness to bond with his players and get them to bond with one another are exactly what they need when we find them.
To paraphrase Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday, 'either we heal here now as a team, or we will crumble as individuals'. Ted's job is clear to him the moment he arrives, he is there to heal them as a team.
The show runs on a sense that everything will be okay in the end, no matter what that end result is.
