6. Audience Involvement
The audience at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon shouldn't expect to sit down for the hour long show. On any given night they might be part of a
yacht rock, or grouped together to duel it out in a
Battle of the Instant Bands. Games like
Models & Buckets and
Darts of Insanity! involve audience members competing against each other for prizes, and the sense of fun is palpable. Fallon simply wants to entertain his audience, and he understands that one of the best ways to do that is to involve them. Instead of the audience watching as Fallon tells jokes and then interviews a guest, he has incorporated them into the show in a major way. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is the only late night talk show whose audience members can leave with $100 Starbucks gift cards or Led Zeppelin t-shirts with the 'L' missing, and thank goodness for that.
