6 Supporting TV Characters Who Stole The Show (And 3 Who Never Should Have)
2. Stiles Stilinski - Teen Wolf
Dylan O'Brien may be busy tearing up the big screen these days, but there's a strong chance that he wouldn't be doing so if it weren't for his endearing turn as Stiles Stilinski in MTV's Teen Wolf - the role that undoubtedly made him a star.
As Scott McCall's best friend, Stiles was mischeivous, goofy and a little too adventurous for most Beacon Hills residents, but he was also incredibly clued in - and that was a trait that made him the mystery drama's secret weapon.
While he mostly lingered around the main narrative during the first two seasons, his effortlessly comedic approach lent some light to some very dark seasons as he became more and more important to the story and, by the time Season 3 had rolled around, he had naturally ascended to equal (not overthrow) Scott as a fellow protagonist.
His overactive imagination and goofy behaviour may have made him "weird" to some, but they prepared him for situations like the ones all of them ended up facing and, as he embraced his role as Beacon Hills' resident teenage detective, he stole the show time and again. Why? Well, it's simple really: In a world full of supernatural creatures, Stiles stood out for being human. And his long-running attraction to Lydia was one of the finest, and most natural, pieces of epic storytelling in TV history.
Teen Wolf wouldn't have been half the great show that it was without Stiles and that, without a doubt, makes him its most important character.
