Johnny Knoxville has come a long way since he played basketball with a fake erection in episode one of Jackass. Okay maybe not that far, but Bad Grandpa is the fourth film in the Jackass movie franchise, and the first to be nominated for an Academy Award, even if it was Best Makeup and Hairstyling. In the film, Knoxville's old man character Irving Zisman goes off the rails after his wife dies in a hospital, and has to be kept in check by his young Grandson, Billy. A lot of the semi-improvised scenes are filmed using unsuspecting members of the Ohio and North Columbia public, with often hilarious results. Keep an eye on Amazon Prime for more Knoxville - he pops up in the Kevin Spacey/Michael Shannon comedy drama Elvis & Nixon, which drops this April. In the meantime, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa ambles over to Netflix on February 21st.
