Based on the Mortal Instruments book series by Cassandra Clare, from the promo photo it looks like a gothic Dragon's Den, but it's anything but risky business. It tells the story of a Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) who is a Shadowhunter - someone who can see people that others can't, and not dead people but angels. It just so happens that she's a human-angel hybrid, too. There's not much else to go on because the show is only a couple of episodes in, which is why Netflix UK are releasing it episodically in line with the US broadcast schedule on Freeform, the new name for ABC Family. Not great for binge-watchers but your optician will thank you. If you like Heroes, Buffy, or Vampire Diaries then get in on the ground floor. Shadowhunters is available now.
