6. Rick And Morty

Rick and Morty is no stranger to lengthy breaks between seasons, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that's there's going to be another two-year wait before the hit Adult Swim comedy returns.

Season 1 aired late-2013/early-2014, but Season 2 didn't air 'til summer 2015. It was then two years before Season 3, which garnered widespread acclaim and some ridiculous Szechuan sauce-based controversy in 2017. Now, writer and producer Ryan Ridley has said a new season won't arrive this year. He told Detroit Cast:

“They really take their time. I never understood why everybody — all parties, Dan [Harmon], Justin [Roiland], and Adult Swim — didn’t get their s**t together, and make the show fast. I just don’t get it. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m sure they all have their reasons.

“I’m just shocked that it’s taking – we got done writing season 3 in November [2016] and here we are 11 months later. And then I know how long the show takes to write, let alone animate, so it’s just like, I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air any sooner than 2019 – in late 2019.”
