Set in the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle, the series follows the lives of several doctors struggling to balance their excruciatingly hectic jobs along with their dramatic personal lives. The series is mostly based around main character Meredith Grey, (Ellen Pompeo) a third year resident in the surgical department and her interactions with the other doctors and staff. Why She'll Love It Love it or hate it, one of these romance dramas was bound to end up on a list such as this which is why you might be surprised to learn that Grey's Anatomy has proved to be much more than a run-of-the-mill sob-fest. Sure, it's dramatic and far-fetched with just a little bit too much going on, but the engaging characters and steady pace of each season, especially the action heavy episodes, mean it's the best of the bunch when it comes to it's competitors.
