7 Best YA Novels Adapted Into Hit TV Shows

1. Gossip Girl

A Series Of Unfortunate Events Season 2
The CW

The TV show eclipsed it in terms of success, but Gossip Girl is in fact based on a book series by Cecily von Ziegesar. Following the lives and love affairs of New York's most privileged youth, as told from the perspective of the titular online blogger, von Ziegesar's series spanned 13 novels, written in the space of only seven years.

Premiering in 2007, the show was a massive hit among teens in the US and its appeal gradually expanded worldwide. The series ended in 2012, but not before making stars out of Blake Lively and Kristen Bell.

Yet, with a 10-episode reboot being announced last year and a spin-off series - Gossip Girl: The Carlyles - part of von Ziegesar's back-catalogue, expect to see plenty more of this pop-culture giant in the future. XOXO

A bit of a boffin when it comes to film, TV and music. Low-key MCU fanatic. Skinny, pale and ginger, found in the shade, covered in factor 50 sun cream in the summer or inside wearing 10 layers in the winter.
