7 Cancelled TV Shows That Deserve A Kickstarter Project

5. Reaper (2007)

reaper Unfortunately there are still people out there that have never heard of this short lived comedy about a guy who finds out that his parents sold his soul to the Devil (Ray Wise) and becomes his grim reaper. The show followed the adventures of Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison) as he tries to balance working at a home improvement store and sending souls back to hell for the Devil. Along with his friends Sock (Tyler Labine), Ben (Rick Gonzalez), and Andi (Missy Peregrym), Sam would track down dangerous and evil souls and capture them. The show contained a lot of dark humor and a terrific supporting cast. The show was cancelled after two seasons, but it has gotten new life with Netflix streaming and DVD sales. Although this is one of the only shows on the list that is not rumored to return in someway, it doesn€™t mean that it shouldn€™t. Reaper was the closest thing to a live action Ghostbusters television show that we may ever see. The show was like a funny version of CW€™s Supernatural, but it focused more on the dark comedy then the drama. I believe that it would make a great Kickstarter project if it focused on Sam€™s journey to get his soul back, which was a lingering plot point throughout the series. A feature film version of the series wouldn€™t need a large budget to successfully convey the same material that made this short lived show a cult classic.
