7 Cancelled TV Shows That Deserve A Kickstarter Project

4. Pushing Daises (2007)

pushing_daisies_pc The cancellation of Pushing Daises has been and will always be one of the worst calls ever made by ABC, or any network for that matter. It only lasted 22 episodes, but the Bryan Fuller series was one of the most original shows to come out in recent years. Unlike anything else at the time or since, Pushing Daises centered on Ned (Lee Pace), a pie maker with the unnatural ability to bring dead people back to life. He used his ability to help his Private Investigator friend, Emerson (Chi McBride) solve mysteries along with his back from the dead friend, Charlotte (Anna Friel). The show focused heavily on dark humor and struck a cord with a lot of people. However it didn€™t attract the audience wanted by ABC in a very competitive primetime timeslot. The show would gain more viewers after its cancellation. Once the series hit DVD, it became a cult classic. I only first watched the show in one of my classes as an example of applying beautiful aesthetics to help make the audience feel different types of emotions. The show did just that, the use of contemporary colors helped create a gorgeous world for these characters to interact in while distinguishing itself as a show that was like nothing else on television. The success of Veronica Mars€™ Kickstarter project has propelled Fuller into expressing interest in bringing back Pushing Daises in some kind of capacity. With any luck, fans will hopefully get to see more from this unjustifiably cancelled cult classic.
