7 Greatest Game Of Thrones Monologues

7. Jaime, On Vows ("A Man Without Honor")

Back in Season 2, the Lannisters were still pretty much villains. Other than Tyrion, there were none who were particularly sympathetic, and most of his points came from the fact that he was funny and preferred prostitutes to his own kinsman. Still, there were varying degrees of Lannister evil, and--other than Joffrey--Jaime was probably the most despicable. He killed the king he'd sworn to protect. He had an affair with the queen, who happened to be his twin sister. He flung a child from a tower and was disappointed when the child did not die. He attacked Ned and killed Jory. Even when imprisoned in the Stark encampment, he gloried in taunting Catelyn over her widowhood. So, when Catelyn accuses him of forsaking every vow that he ever took, it's difficult to take his side in the argument...even if he does sort of make a lot of sense. (Especially considering what we learn from him in Season 3.)
