7 Hints That Cersei Will Die On Game Of Thrones
4. The Power Draining Walk Of Shame
The season ending walk of shame that seemed like it lasted approximately fifteen days seemed to say a whole lot about Cersei's potential fall from grace. Watching the once powerful and delightfully evil former queen be taunted, abused and shamed publicly while stripped completely nude was definitely a game changer. She ended that walk on a much lower rung of the power ladder, and crucially, she appears vulnerable to her people.
This is especially poignant after she basically put herself in that position. Had she not gone to great lengths to lock away Margaery because of her own paranoia, she never would have had to face the Great Sparrow and be thrown into prison herself.
This is really pertinent because George R.R Martin usually makes it a subtle point to bring a character's flaw/weaknesses to the forefront before he gives them an early exit. Joffrey's complete lack of human empathy was demonstrated directly before his death, Catelyn and Robb's poor decision making before the Red Wedding and Oberyn's obsessive need for vengeance and validation before his grisly end are a few that come to mind.
Cersei is faltering. She is making huge mistakes and they are just now having effects on her standing. Power is slipping. Given past lessons learned, this doesn't spell out an impressive future for her character.
