7 Ideas For The New Arrowverse Show In 2020

In the beginning of Supergirl's third season, the Legion of Super-Heroes, or at least three crucial members (Brainiac-5, Mon-El, Saturn Girl), are introduced as having been stranded in the 21st Century, hoping to return to the 31st Century. The Legion's history is slightly altered in the show, depicting the team's inspiration being from Supergirl's heroics, rather than Superboy's (who does not currently exist within the Arrowverse).

Even though three of its core members have been featured as main cast on Supergirl, much of the Legions own exploits have gone completely unexplored, reasoning that they can't reveal Supergirl's future for the sake of the timeline.

However, a potential series need not worry about spoiling future events of Supergirl. A show about the Legion of Super-Heroes should first and foremost be about their own outings, not the stories of heroics in the past. Besides, the team has always been more cosmically driven, helping set itself apart from Legends of Tomorrow which, although it has explored the future, usually opts to meddle in the past.

Aside from this, the Legion has a great diversity of powers and characters in the comics that it can utilise, from the intangible Phantom Girl to the magnetic Cosmic Boy. Moreover, just because Superboy doesn't exist in the Arrowverse yet, doesn't mean a version can't appear in the far future to lend a helping hand.
