7 Major Characters In The Last Kingdom Who Aren't Even Real
6. Father Beocca
The good priest who once served at Bebbanburg would become a senior advisor to King Alfred. While he once served Uhtred's family and indeed baptised him into his new name, he would go on to become a voice of reason in the court of Winchester.
While a Godly man, he was more accepting than most of the pagan ways of Uhtred's Danish upbringing and would often argue that sometimes there was value in having a heathen to hand. While he was mostly a man of peace, as time marched on he would find a strength and anger within him that would make him take up arms against the Danes.
He fought alongside Uhtred and Ragnar at Dunholm (modern day Durham) and later in the army of King Alfred. Even in times of grief, he managed to stave off hatred and maintained his grip on reason, staying a faithful friend to both the king and his most troublesome but talented heathen warrior.
