Similar to The Simpsons, South Park is a long-running cartoon that's had a huge influence in the popular culture, especially in the 1990s. Both are still on the air now and both have had success marketing their brand in music.

The 1998 Chef Aid: The South Park Album was a compilation album with songs from a diverse but impressive cast of musicians. Elton John, DMX, and Rancid were a few of the bigger names to appear on the project.

The featured single off of the album was "Chocolate Salty Balls," a raunchy track sung by the legendary soul singer Isaac Hayes. Hayes also happened to be a regular cast member as the voice of Chef at that point in the show, so it probably wasn't difficult at all to get him on the album. The song was accompanied by a music video of sorts that played during Episode 9 of the show's second season.

Music icon Rick Rubin produced the song and it became an international hit. One chart in particular that the song dominated on was the U.K. Singles Chart. A quirky fact is that as a result of the the success of "Chocolate Salty Balls," Isaac Hayes landed his first ever number one hit in the U.K., selling over 850,000 copies along the way.
