7 Problems With WandaVision That Nobody Wants To Admit

3. The Quicksilver Twist Was Anticlimactic

It’s been a common complaint among MCU fans that, after his death in Age of Ultron, Wanda’s twin brother Pietro Maximoff is very rarely mentioned again. WandaVision was clearly intent on putting this right, first by namedropping him in episode four and then having him appear in person in episode five, played by Evan Peters from the Fox X-Men universe rather than the MCU’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

This, of course, sent fans flying into theories about the true nature of the character. Was it an illusion from Wanda? Or had the Fox Quicksilver actually crossed over into the MCU?

Now of course just because someone’s favourite fan theory doesn’t come true, it doesn’t mean that the show itself is bad. What is pretty insulting, however, is revealing that this fake Pietro was actually just someone already living in Westview who happened to look exactly like the Fox Quicksilver and is being controlled by Agatha. Plus, his last name is ‘Boehner’. The entire payoff of this character literally amounts to nothing more than a joke.

It’s just a pretty boring and anticlimactic way to wrap up one of the series’ most interesting narrative threads.
