7 Reasons To Look Forward To The Narnia Reboot

4. They Know What Not To Do

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was such a success for Disney that they ordered a full seven movies to be adapted from C.S. Lewis' novels. Considering that today there only stand to be three movies in this particular franchise, clearly somewhere went wrong there.

One factor was that the films were extremely expensive to produce and their returns were steadily dropping from film to film. Another was that they were tweaking the stories in ways they did not need to be tweaked.

Adding the Susan and Prince Caspian romance plot was not only completely fabricated by the production team but also unnecessary, considering Susan's character is never to return to Narnia after the second installment. They also jumped over a book in the series, because a Horse and His Boy did not include members of the Pevensie family.

It's clear that at the time the production team worried about boring or confusing its vewiers. However modern television and film has proved that audiences not only understand, but enjoy a complex plot.
