7 Reasons Why We Miss The West Wing

6. Drama and Comedy

Drama and Comedy so often used to be completely separate entities. The West Wing is a classic example of expertly utilising both moments of comedy and drama in order to maximize the viewing experience. The subject of the West Wing is naturally a very dry area; this is why the use of scattered comedy was vital to its entertainment value. The range of emotions brought out by the West Wing is surprising for a series based around the White House staff. Some of my favourite moments are the more comedic ones, I€™ll never forget President Bartlet's staff meeting while spaced out on medication or Josh€™s first meeting with the deaf pollster Joey Lucas. Just in the same way that I will never forget the moving moments such as the series 3 finale backed by Jeff Buckley€™s €˜Hallelujah€™ or Leo's Funeral in the final series.
