Any sitcom worth its salt has a handful of solid catchphrases for fans to squeeze into common parlance. Like a keyword to signal to other fans that you’re one of them, catchphrases unite comedy fans worldwide. But few sitcoms have contributed to the everyday vernacular quite like Seinfeld.

Seinfeld popularised terms such as “Yada Yada Yada” and “close talker” that captured the cultural zeitgeist of the 90s. As well as useful phrases, Seinfeld fans also revel in the slightly more unorthodox catchphrases of their beloved show. Seinfeld enthusiasts probably never finish a starter without belting out “no soup for you!”, and any sexual conquest is surely placed under the spotlight of whether it is considered “sponge-worthy” or not.

Half the fun of any beloved sitcom is reciting lines to other fans and for Seinfeld aficionados the list is endless. For those unfortunate enough to have to endure hearing these lines on repeat….”Serenity Now!”
