7 Things Supergirl Needs To Do Next

2. Get A Hand On Relationships

A trap that Supergirl seems on the verge of falling into is the dreaded love triangle. Kara has had semi romantic interactions with both of her males best friends, James Olsen and Winn Schott (though she did reject the latter), and the writers seem to be doing everything they can to drag these entanglements out. This is probably part of the reason Lucy Lane is even on the show, she's there so that Kara can't hook up with Jimmy until much later on. There's nothing wrong with romance of course, but it can become insufferable for the audience to slog through seasons of insipid romantic back and forth that they know won't amount to anything. Arrow suffered greatly to this effect. Oliver's romantic life could've been concise and believable, but instead it was stretched into a soap opera subplot very few fans liked. If the writers want Kara to have a romantic partner, then they need to pick one and stick to it, whether it be Jimmy or Winn. (Or if they want a third route they could pair her with Cat. Many of the fans would love it, and the two undeniably have the best chemistry of the whole cast.) Supergirl has too much on her plate to spend so much of it dwelling on dating. She may be an attractive twenty-something, but she's also a nigh invincible demigod of Krypton, and that second one should be the focus.
