8 Best TV Shows You Can Now Binge On Disney+ (That You Probably Haven't Seen)
2. Snowfall
There are many reasons to watch Snowfall. For one, it chronicles a turbulent time in Los Angeles in the 1980s, a period ripe for exploration and understanding. Another reason is, it was created by the late John Singleton, director of Boyz in the Hood, who sadly passed in 2019, and there are few better ways to honour his memory by dipping your toes into this detailed world he helped create.
The show opts to follow the intersecting lives of a number of individuals during the period of one of the first crack cocaine epidemics to sweep Los Angeles in 1983. We have a drug dealer played remarkably by Damon Idris, a crime boss's daughter, an undercover CIA agent, and even a Luchador.
Despite lacking the name talent of many other shows on this list, Snowfall does a great job all round in bringing its world to life and filling it with interesting characters. As it stands, the show is still going and its fourth season just started airing this year.
Viewership so far for the latest season is down on previous seasons, so you best get involved sooner rather than later before the show potentially gets cancelled.
