Some real-life events are so popular they can spawn more than one adaptation or interpretation of events, and much like the life of O.J. Simpson, the story behind Trust is one that you may already be somewhat familiar with. Trust follows the sensational story of the abduction of John Paul Getty III in 1973, and his grandfather's refusal to pay the ransom.

If you're thinking you've seen this before, you probably have if you've watched Ridley Scott's movie All the Money in the World which happened to come out the year before this show.

There are some major credentials involved in the making of Trust. Creator Simon Beaufoy was also the screenwriter of The Full Monty, Everest, and Slumdog Millionaire, and the cast includes the always impressive Donald Sutherland, amply supported by the likes of Hilary Swank and Brendan Fraser.

The 10 episode series was rather successful, though did attract a modicum of controversy from the Getty family who contested some of the show's depictions of their family were anything but trustworthy. One of the cool things about watching Trust over All the Money in the World is that you don't have to feel guilty about watching it knowing they never had to scrub Kevin Spacey from film reel.

Avid writer of nonsense. Can often be seen in his natural habitat watching far too many films and not enough TV. Occasionally plays on the Xbox and Megadrive whilst chastising himself for not writing more.
